By the OP's definition, Butterbean Ersch is a better fighter than Sugar Ray Robinson because he's bigger. P4P is not a difficult concept to grasp. Only clueless people struggle with it.

Butterbean actually is a better fighter than Robinson. My P4P list:

        1. Ali
        2. Butterbean
        3. Robinson
        4. Pacquiao
        5. Mayweather
        6. Mayweather's Dad
        7. Pacquiao's Dad

Guys, guys, guys....You've all got it wrong. There can only be a few GOAT. Vitali was mauled by Lummox, Lummox was knocked out Rahman, who was ****, Foreman was beat by Ali, so not him, and Ali was beat Holmes and Holmes was nearly beat by Butterbean....So, Butterbean is definitely up there.

The GOAT though? Marciano, Calzaghe, Mayweather, Simon etc. They never lost so no one is better than them.

P4P is not an easy topic to grasp. Everyone does their p4p differently and its totally a subjective term with little to no meaning

Is it how well you faired against fighters your weight class?
does a 200 lbs hw have to be adjusted p4p with a 250 lbs hw or because theyre the same weight class are they the same.
If a fighter gains weight and moves up does that lower then p4p wise.
Is it if such and such were the same weight how would they fair-this one makes no sense, how can anyone tell what SRR would be like if he was taller and gained 70 lbs...who the hell knows, or do you shrink the bigger guy?
Is it based on your ability to beat bigger guys?

p4p is purely subjective with no real rational basis. If you say its based on accomplishments, ok whatever, still subjective. Wlad Klitschko has defended his titles more times outside of Holmes and Ali and the guys he defended against had on average 5 fewer losses then the guys Holmes and Ali defended against.

P4P is kinda dumb, it makes no sense, it was a made up term just to give lower weight fighters some love. If Floyd moved up to Vitali's size and kept his speed and skills sure he would kill Vitali, but if Vitali moved down to Floyd's size and kept his power he would KO 1 Floyd. Vitali hits Floyd flush in the shoulder?its game over. The whole thing is kinda dumb, purely subjective and there are no real rules to it.
