Lionel Rose, Johnny Famechon, Fighting Harada, Pone Kingpetch, Jose Medel...the whole 60's bantamweight era. One of the truly great eras ever.

Basilio and Satterfield were both forward moving aggressive types, both exciting fighters.

Vicente Saldivar, Joe Brown, Harold Johnson and Eder Jofre were all very skilled boxers.
Will probably get some stick for this but Jofre is the best boxer I've ever seen, shame so little footage exists of him though, Saldivar is the best person at parrying I've seen as well, check out his fights with Howard Winstone.

Kid Gavilan was a great boxer too, the best out of Cuba.

Should obviously check out Ray Robinson and Jake LaMotta too, just assumed you've already looked at them though.

Thanks for this, I will check out these guys when I find the time. Been watching some of Floyd Patterson's fights, that guy was a great fighter. Guys like Liston were just way to big for him though

What?*Are you serious? N....mate.....Why would you cop stick for that?

In all seriousness though, Jofre is without a doubt one of the greatest of all time. Top ten, sure, top twenty, no problem....you could put him anywhere and he backs it up having beaten some of the games great fighters himself and doing it in an amazing era, that is simply not seen today no matter how good the division.

Jofre had everything and could do everything. His only nemesis proved a genuine ATG himself and that could be argued was also due to the weight finally getting to him too.

Lol, I've only seen a few people rank Jofre highly and the majority of people think that Robinson / Ali / Langford and a few others are the most skilled boxer to grace the planet, Jofre rarely gets mentioned among them if at all.

Also saying a boxer is more skilled then Robinson usually leads to an argument or getting laughed at.

I bet you thought I was giving ya stick for it at first!

If anyone has actually watched a lot of Jofre then they should understand completely why you would say such a thing and there wouldn't be much disagreement at all....Most people though will simply ramble, no doubt not having a clue who he even is.
