Winky wright had a very good southpaw jab, so did marvin hagler. most southpaws dispense with the jab and instead throw the left hand and move away. to jab you have to step forward with your back foot. it defeats the purpose of being a southpaw to some extent. moving on.
left jab:
liston, quartey (^^)
both had incredible jabs that could not only win rounds but change the shape of a fight
straight right hand:
hearns, joe louis
probably the two "scariest" or "deadliest" punchers i've ever seen
at 147 and 154, and even to a lesser degree at 160 thomas hearns was DANGEROUS
as was joe louis. at his best joe louis was an absolute killer. maybe the best to ever punch
hook:
robinson
righthook // back foot hook / short punch:
tyson, robinson
On the uppercuts i'll just say that Saad Muhammad probably throws the best i've seen
body shots :
joe frazier
Joe louis is the only man in history in my opinion who can have an argument made for each of his punches as being the best (all the orthodox ones anyway,) or among the best.
he was a tremendous offensive fighter
maybe the best ever.
