  • Greatest Light-Heavyweights?

    This is off the top of my head, so don't be too hard on me if you disagree with the order. But this is what I've come up with for an all-time top 10 in this division ;

    1. Ezzard Charles
    2. Sam Langford
    3. Archie Moore
    4. Gene Tunney
    5. Michael Spinks
    6. Bob Foster
    7. Tommy Loughran
    8. Billy Conn
    9. Roy Jones
    10. Harry Greb

Honourable mentions to; Jack O'Brien, Maxie Rosenbloom, Harold Johnson, John Henry Lewis, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Jimmy Bivins, Bob Fitzsimmons, Kid McCoy and Jack Dillon.

Top choices yogi except for the RJJ one.
I would put Bob Fitzsimmons in his place.
Dont think he belongs with them greats.

Sam wasn't really a Light-Heavy was he? In his prime he was more like Super Middle. I mean he only stood 5'6". He fought in every weight class though.

Very good list Yogi, although I'd put Rosenbloom, Johnson, Lewis, and probably Dillon ahead of Jones Jr, and rank Greb a middleweight instead of a Light HW. Probably something like this

                  1) Sam Langford (he was at so many weight classes (but in his prime did weigh around 170-180) so hard to put at light HW but if he is then I think he deserves to be # 1)
                  2) Ezzard Charles
                  3)Archie Moore
                  4) Gene Tunney
                  5) Michael Spinks
                  6) Tommy Loughran
                  7) Billy Conn
                  8) Bob Foster
                  9) Maxie Rosenbloom
                  10) John Henry Lewis
                  11) Harold Johnson
                  12) Jack Dillon
                  13) Roy Jones Jr
                  14) Matthew Sadd Muhammed
                  15) Tiger Jack Fox

-I don't rank Fitz as a light HW but I understand if he is
