The topic is whos more skilled Floyd or Burley. Kind of hard not to talk about Floyd when thats what the topics about. If you dont like the topic then you dont have to reply to it.
There's a big difference between "talking about" Floyd and slobbering all over him ie. "Floyd is the most skilled fighter of all-time". THAT'S d1ckriding.

You mean a lot of people in NSB would agree with you: NSB the den of nuthugging and people who don't know **** all about the sport. The opinions of idiots from NSB don't count for squat as the source has to be consided.

I personally don't go to NSB for any brilliant insight into the sport.....I pop in there when I want to laugh at morons.

Sure theres some posters in NSB who dont have that much knowledge. The majority though have decent knowledge to make informed opinions.

          http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=389893.

53% of NSB agree that Floyds the most skilled fighter of all time. If you think its d1ckriding fair enough, but the majority of people disagree with you.

90% of the posters in NSB are fan-bois who haven't been watching boxing for 10-15 years at best. Most fall into the catagory of ignorant village idiot types, the rest fall into the catagory of just plain ignorant. What little "knowledge" they DO possess is limited to what they've seen over the past few years so any claim they make about any current fighter being the "greatest" at anything holds absolutely no water. They haven't even seen or brushed up on 99% of the ATGs over the past 100 years so how on Earth can they claim to have any informed on the subject?

Mayweather is *today* head and shoulders above the rest of active fighters in terms of skills. For the most part it's almost as if he was in a different sport.

That being said, having a deep game was the norm in the 40s-50s. Despite the lack of recognition Burley was one of the top fighters in an era which included Armstrong, Pep, Robinson, Charles, Walcott, Moore, Williams, Bivins... One of the best things about Burley was his skillset. Do the math.

I am not answering because any answer I give would come out of my personal bias of the moment. I think it's close or at least very hardto answer objectively.

What I know is that, and this does not detract from him, Mayweather would be nowhere as dominant had he fought back then.

And THAT, at least, is a fair point.....Just expect to catch some heat for it from the Floyd worshippers
