yes i see what you mean, Weaver was in his 40s and a grandaddy by the time he fought a young Lennox Lewis yet Lewis still struggled badly with him before KOing him towards the end of the 8rd fight.. Great champions like Tyson & Holyfield would have gotten Weaver out of there in the opening round like Bonecrusher Smith did 10yrs before Weaver was completely `Shot`and fighting Lewis

Weaver was still good and lewis did not struggle with him either.Lewis was still a prospect and it was a good win at the time, either way it was a great knockout and proves that Lewis had the one punch knockout that you have claimed that he didnt have.

against a 40yr + fighter who had been bombed out by Bonecrusher Smith in the opening round a decade earlier and had been poleaxed by South African Johnny DuPloy 9yrs earlier in less than 2rds... it just goes to prove Lewis had little power as 3 fights later Lewis out-pointed journeyman/clubfighter Levi Billups with Lewis failing to put a dent in Billups yet every single fighter who Billups fought who was above Class D easily Knocked-Out Billups within the opening couple of rounds.

i was willing to discuss Mike Weaver but with you turning it into a Lennox Lewis thread that is fine by me as i love talking about Lewis and his opportunist career.

Billups came to survive against Lewis and thats all he did.Weaver was still a good test for a young green prospect like Lewis you idiot.Lewis knocked Weaver out with one punch!

Billups came to survive?.... dont make me laugh, are you now claiming that Billups took a dive in his other 21 losses ?.... i suppose Ossie Ocsaio 36yrs and Jean Chanet 36yrs old was also great tests for Lewis, why dont you face-up to the fact that Lewis only ever fought tomato-cans, has-beens and old journeymen with two of those journeymen poleaxing him.. even when Lewis was given a paper-title in 92 after Bowe dumped the belt he chose to defend it against 34yr old Junkie Tony Tucker, whenever Lewis was forced to fight a fighter who was young and at the Top of their Game like the No1 contenders Chris Byrd, John Ruiz or Vitali Klitschko he ran like a dog terrified of them and was "Stripped of the Title Belts"....For your information Lewis never went to the same school as myself here in England he was schooled in Canada where he represented that country in the Olympics and still lives there.

Billups trained and prepared to last the distance with a olympic medalist and thats all he did, ocasio was a former world champ and chanet was european champ so yes they were good tests.Tony tucker was a mandatory you clown, lewis never chose him.Byrd had already been exposed by vitali and Lewis took a fight with the man who knocked ruiz out in twentys seconds.

lewis didnt move to canada until he was twelve and no he doesnt live in canada today you moron.

Your avatar suits you well. You make yourself sound more and more like an idiot everyday.

You come off as a kid who can't be over 17 years old and are without a doubt you are British and have a blind loyalty to Lennox Lewis.

You look at boxrec and pretend to know of the has beens Lewis beat when in reality their fight with Lewis is all you have ever seen.

Sonny has forgotten more about the sport than you have ever known, so why do you try and challenge him?

Lewis was a bum beater who never fought any top contender until they were far past prime - that is a fact and it is how history will remember him, which is why Lennox doesn't have the same aura or respect as other ATG heavyweight champions like Liston, Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, Dempsey, Marciano, etc... His career is plastered with question and doubt and he will be remembered for what he was - a low B rate fighter who had made a name beating big names of the past after they were far far past it.

At his best a good fighter and top contender.....probably hung around too long after his abilities started eroding.
