That is the point the fact that you cant hold on to these past fighters who were far inferior. Thank god we have times in track or people would try to argue Jesse Owens was the fastest man ever to live. Vitali would murder a Jim Jeffries in the ring. KO 1. Then he'd knock Jack Johnson out too and not break a sweat. people like Vitali didnt exist back then.

Again, jim jeffries threw like 20 punches a round...Jack Johnson pretty much wasa wrestler.

The nice thing about UFC is that when you say, "Oh man this guys great" no old person jumps in and says, "but they were better back in my day." Athletes are completely different now, a completely different calibur. Again just look at Jesse Owens track times, wouldnt even make some high schools relays. look at Mark Spitz's times...Phelps breaks his records in practice with a drag suit on, back to back. And people will argue boxing was more popular back then and disregard the lack of foreign fighters, both latino and european, but also Asian. They also wont realize that bad boxers starting out go into other sports instead of keeping on boxing and having records of 110-135 etc...Or that the athlete and medicine has changed now. Now a 39 year old Vitali Klitschko can throw 1000 punches in 12 rounds.
id give them 50 a round so 1000 in 20, dosnt seem like much has changed just a different work rate to match the time allotment.

plus the deflecting was as much a movement as well as the clinching, all draining stamina.

haha 50 round, ok quick question how many punches did Jeffries throw in the first 3 rounds against Johnson? I counted 32 total. 50 a round? haha what a joke.

im unable to find a full fight copy do you have one?

though on a second note i agree that johnson was more of a wrestler then a boxer and jeffries would wrestle as part of training so really i would expect johnson jeffries to have more clinching then punching with johnson rushing jeffries the whole time and out wrestling him the whole time.

something like jeffires sharkley or ruhlin as actual youtube footage unless you have other stuff would probly have more then 32 over 3 round though im not sure if theres any with complete rounds.

plus jeffries was past prime in the johnson fight conserving his energy for a possible 45 round match.

The Jeffries that fought Johnson was hopelessly post prime. That film gives little clue as to how good Jeffries was years previous. Its a shame that the Corbett fights dont exist on film.

I dont doubt that either could outbox Jeffries!

The problem for the Klitschkos concerns the fight length. Jeffries fought 20-25 rounds at times. Their massive frames would surely struggle with this sort of fight length. Jeffries of course had terrific distance stamina and conditioning.

Their best bet would be to try and get Jeffries 'out' early. But he was a very tough chap, they might have serious difficulty doing that!!!
Wlad has stamina problems so he could be flopping, but what about Jeffries chin?

Never ko'ed. never kd in his prime.

fitz turned his face to hamburger exposin his cheek bones breaking his nose and bloodying him up and chyonisky sent his lip through his teeth.

a prime jeffries would not get koed by either klit and i doubt he would even get knocked down.

So it's punchamount that determines the stamina? And the punchoutput in the old days was lower than today?

Well in the Wolgast-Nelson fight the average number of punches per round was 70-80. For 40 rounds! That makes some 3,000 punches!

Does that mean that your argument ???
