This dude was a freak of nature. He hit scary hard. Ruled the middleweight division with a iron fist, and knocked down the ATG HW champion Jack Johnson.

His killer instinct, and power were unmatched.

Knocked down Johnson only because he wasn't expecting a power haymaker in a rigged fight. Lost most of his teeth on the very next punch for the effort.

Ketchel was not truly a giant killer despite his best efforts against Jack Johnson, but he rates highly for what he did as a middleweight. The division was quite strong at the time, with numerous title claimants, and Ketchel cleaned them out. Also deserves credit for KO'ing light heavyweight champ Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, though O'Brien was little more than a middleweight in size.
