  • Morales vs Pacquiao II:Why did Erik agree to fight at 130 lbs?

Erik said that he could no longer safely make 130lbs, so why did he agree? Can anyone here fill me in?

To make the fight happen and thus get a huge payday.

Probably because he was angry at getting KO'd and had a chance to make millions of dollars.

He asked Manny's team to make the fight at 135 or atleast at 132 because he couldnt make the weight but Freddie Roach said no because that would give Morales an advantage and now Paquaio's next fight is at super welter.

But he said himself that he couldn't make the 130 lb limit anymore, which is why he asked for it to be at a catchweight of 132 lbs. Do you how much he got for taking that fight?

Roach is always trying to maximize Pac's advantages, I dont think its a good thing for Marg to be fighting at 150 either.

I wonder what Team Pac would of done if Eric refused to fight at 130 lbs?

                Money talks.

Would you turned down a big payday to fight a guy who you beat because of two pounds? Manny was his biggest payday.

Oh. Well chalk that up to the Raheem fight. He picked a terrible opponent to try out 135 for the first time. He and his team probably thought it was the weight that did him in instead of accepting that Raheem was just a stylistic foil to him. So he went back down for a Pac rematch figuring he already solved the guy once and could bounce back with a win.
