Mike McCallum was a very well respected guy, Iv'e heard people say nothing but good things about him. James Toney gives him alot of respect as does Roy Jones Jr and Emanuel Steward also. I need to see this fight.

The peek-a-boo guard is pretty much useless against a skilled, consistent body puncher.
Nasty knockout too.

I was so disappointed in how his career ended. He got robbed in the first Eubank fight and was about to ko Chris when he got caught.
Come now.The first Euank-Watson fight was about as close a fight between two evenly matched boxers as you'll ever find.
I couldn't see how anyone could honestly claim either man won more than seven rounds.
The Watson-benn fight was, atleast in my view, the greatest british domestic fight of the last twenty years.
Always enjoyed it more than Eubank-benn.

off topic:Just imagine if Benn had got past Watson and tried to fight McCallum the same way

Originally posted by 1SILVA View PostThe Curry fight was his most spectacular win, but he was being outclassed and outboxed by Curry until the left hook paralyzed Curry. Against Watson, it was a virtuoso performance.
I also noticed a while back that he fights out of the classic boxing stance (like Walcott,Toney, Hopkins, Moore, Burley etc). He uses his left shoulder to deflect punches

It breaks down the classical stance as used by Charley Burley. McCallum claimed to be influenced by Robinson but I see more Walcott is his style then Robinson
I think this was filmed before his second fight with Toney
