Nobody has ever "wiped the floor" with McCallum. This guy was one of the toughest, most durable boxers ever. I think he would give Hagler problems with his long jab and body punching but I would see Hagler grinding out a win with his toughness and grit. It would be an interesting fight though, McCallum was a very good boxer in his prime. Very underrated.

Co sign. Hagler edges it for me.

Good, good point about the man with the better feet. Late-stage Hagler, imo, would've squeaked by McCallum in a tough one. Early-reign Hagler I think would've taken him with much less difficulty, although I don't really think he'd stop Mike. I'm saying this but I regard Mike very, very highly.

This would have been a great fight, the body snatcher was under rated and well capable of beating Hearns,Leanard and giving Haggler a really tough fight. At the time they should have fought I felt Haggler would have won but it would have been tight.

The fight definately goes the distance, I think Hagler might win by a ud.

Im thinking of the rounds during the Toney-McCallum I fight, where Toney's pressure gave McCallum a lot of problems. Hagler could turn up the pressure like that and his workrate was much better than Toney's (although to be fair McCallum was 35 years old at the time)

Mike takes a super close UD. This one's a tough one for me, these guys might be my two favorite middleweights of all time. But, I just think Mike was so damn underrated....he had one of the greatest boxing minds of all time IMO....

I can see a lot of Walcott in McCallum's technique as well, in his stance and footwork

How do you think he would beat Hagler?
