Mickey Malone messaged me about getting footage of Dave Sands, a Young Australian Fighter that Would Have Been Great But His Life Was Cut Short.


So I Looked around in My Fight Collection and found some footage of him and put together a Short Tribute For Dave, It isnt Much But I Did what i could with the Footage i had, Enjoy!

Thank you for the Dave Sands film. Everyone has forgotten about him, although I often think about what he could have been. I was boxing when Sands was in his heyday, and he was nothing but astonishing, holding the middle, lt-heavy. and heavyweight titles of Australia at the same time. I remember when he KO'd **** Turpin in the first (I think) rd. Turpin was good fighter, not as good as his brother Randolph, but good enough to be British and Empire (or Commonwealth-can't remember exactly) champ, when those titles meant something.

Very sad. When Bobo Olson won the title, in his speech he actually said that the title belonged to Dave Sands whom had beaten him, because Robinson had refused to give Sands a fight.
