First fight,may 1941,Louis was on his way to a KO win when it happened.

Imo I hear the bell ringing just a fraction of a second Louis lands but I do think Louis started throwing the punch before the bell started so it would be impossible to stop therefore not in tentionally fouling.

The bell rung as Baer got his bell rung, but Louis had already started to throw the punch and it wasn't intentional. Baer was on his way out and it's a miracle he even got up from the two previous knockdowns.

Baer was actually allowed to continue after the last knockdown, but he was DQ'd after his manager protested that the last punch Louis threw was after the bell.

Louis settled any controversy with a first round knockout in the rematch.
