  • Fighters who won titles in 3 or more decisions and never lost title in ring

How many fighters have won three or more titles in different weight divisions and never lost any of those titles in the ring? I can name three so far:

    ALEXIS ARGUELLO-126, 130, 135
    FLOYD MAYWEATHER-130, 135, 140, 147, 154
    JEFF FENECH-118, 122, 126

This only applies to fighters who won a title and were successful in all or their defenses and gave up their titles or were stripped. They could have lost in attempting to fight for a title(ex-Arguello losing at 140 and Fenech losing at 130 and 135).

    Oscar de la Hoya

    130,135,140.

How about Hector Camacho?Or does the loss to Haugen the first time count?

I wouldn't count Camacho. He lost to Haugen and the loss remains on his record, even though I believe the title was held up until the rematch

Henry Armstrong was the first man to hold three titles in three divisions simultaneously. He won the World Featherweight Title from Petey Sarron on October 29, 1937, the World Welterweight Title from Barney Ross on May 31, 1938, and won the World Lightweight Title in his next fight, on August 17 against Lou Ambers. Armstrong then immediately vacated the Featherweight Title because he could no longer make the weight.

Barney Ross beat Tony Canzoneri and won the lightweight and light-welterweight titles simultaneously. After defending for awhile he vacated to go up to welterweight and fight Jimmy Mclarnin for the title. He won the fight and got his 3rd title, but Jimmy came back and won the rematch.

So then Ross goes back down to 140 and wins back his title in that division, and then goes back to welter to win the rubber match with Mclarnin and regain that title as well. He eventually lost it to Henry Armstrong.

Roy Jones - MW, SMW, HW

Barring the DQ loss to Griffin, it would have been 4..

Ray Leonard - LMW, MW, SMW (LHW?...No, in my opinion)

Floyd Mayweather - SFW, LW, LWW, WW, LMW

Manny Pacquiao - SBW, FW, SFW, LW, LWW, WW

Pac lost his 112 pound title by ko, the only title he lost in the ring.

It's amazing what being able to afford good food did for him..
If he'd had the advice he gets today, he would have vacated quickly at 112 and probably added SFLW (115) and BW (118) making 9 titles in 9 weights!
He must have been absolutely famished, because to go from 112 to 122 is fairly rare in itself, let alone another 5 weights on top.. That's 35lbs (15 KG) or 2.5 stone, and even though it was over a 10 year period, i'm still struggling to get my head around it.

Is he taking something???.. I really hope not, and I like not to think so, but it does make me wonder?.. And let's face it, Mayweather isn't being too unreasonable for asking the same question himself.. If those two don't get it on, I doubt i'll ever get over it!.. It'll be another Bowe Lewis fiasco, haunting me for the rest of my life
