If Ali would have fought Forman in a 20 foot ring?

Most championship fights are in a 20 or 24 foot ring. But Muhammad Ali had to fight George Forman in a 16 foot ring.

How do you see this fight going if it would have been in a 20-24 foot ring?

Would the bigger ring had actually been better for George Forman? Since he could cut off the ring so well? Would Muhammad Ali be the one who tired out first by trying to dance?

Who do you think would have won?

Same result as the original fight.

The rope-a-dope was the key to beat Foreman. Not dancing around the ring.

But wouldn't Ali be trying to dance in a bigger ring?

Ali trained to dance and dance more for the Forman fight. But after the 1st round he said he was alot more tired than he thought he would be.And then changed his fight plan,to fight off the ropes.

Ali said that Forman cut off the ring better than anyone he ever fought. So how would the fight had gone with Ali trying to dance every round in a 20-24 foot ring?

Even if the ring was bigger and he had more room to dance, he would've still realized he was more tired than usual and would've still decided to use the rope-a-dope.

possibly he could've danced more like u said, but this wasnt the prime Ali, he took a beating, make Foreman run out and then KOéd him. if he danced around, he could've had a little more risk because of how Foreman could cut off the ring but also could have of course outboxed him by hard straights.

but then again, look at ken norton fight.. he KO'ed him right?

Ali could(And did) dance for 12 rounds in the 2nd Norton and 2nd Frazier fights. And these were the 2 fights before he fought Forman.

            Yes,Forman did KO Ken Norton.

yeah but i mean Norton didn't have the power of Foreman and Frazier didnt have the size (size as in length and arm length). if you can compare Foreman to Liston a bit, against Liston there was a much faster Ali than there was against Foreman. if Ali tried to outbox Foreman, he would have a lot more risk, because he's so big and strong and Ali wasn't as fast anymore as he was to outbox Liston.

              or am i totally wrong?

Ali didn't use the ring in that fight. Same result. And Foreman DID cut the ring off very effectively which was one reason Ali did not use the ring for movement after the first round.

the younger ali would have taken advantage of the bigger ring against foreman, i dont think it made a big difference for the ali of 74 to fight him in a smaller ring.

I don't think it would have mattered at that point Foreman was very good at cutting the ring off. Ali tried movement and was forced in a shell. On the ropes covering up was the only way Ali could win. Anything else and the result might be different.
