Oh, definitely not KO'd. Chavez is a tough son of a ***** for sure. But by the seventh or eighth round, he's...I don't want to say cowering, but shying away from Taylor's punches a little more. A lot of that is due to volume, but Paulie Malignaggi could hit Chavez with twelve punches in a row and not even slow him down. And Mr. Burgundy said that Taylor had comparable power to Paulie...laughable.

Fair point, but he still hits hard enough to stop Julio Cesar Chavez, one of the toughest tough guys ever to box, dead in his tracks and even had him backing up. Larry Merchant was commenting about how rarely you see him retreating after an exchange. Now, do you think if it was Paulie Malignaggi hitting him three, four times, he would even notice it? Taylor had something behind those punches.Comment

theres that old saying "speed kills" and meldrick had some of the fastest hands in history.chavez wasnt backing up cause he was hurt,he was trying to get breathing room.late in the fight he began walking meldrick down.chavez wasnt much for defense so that should show he had no regard for taylors power what so everComment
