I can't think of another fighter I would pick over Henry Armstrong - he's the best eva.

armstrong wasn't fast enough on his feet or with his hands imo. in a title fight pep wins a split decision after sweeping the early rounds and dropping most of the later ones.

in 10 rounds he has a much easier time with it.

              - -Pep by shutout.

Deny if you must, but Henry a face first plodder.

That he had fighters standing in front of him to be KOed is his saving grace.

There are a few important parameters we never discuss, as if they are set in stone. One is ring size. I have seen a few big time fights in 16 foot rings. In that ring, Armstrong might conquer Pep. Not as much room is needed for Willie's L-steps and V-steps as for Float Like a Butterfly style anyway.

Was there a standard size then?

                    - -16-20 foot rings the usual standards today. If for a title, 20' Mandatory.

Leonard specified a 24' track for Marv!

Thing about pep was reflexes and conditioning and that he could fight like crazy no matter the direction he was in. Nobody could find a spar for prep for his style. Purt fair chin too.
