Bowe was undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world and no one tell you what to do especially the WBC so Bowe dumped their belt in the garbage can when they threatened to strip him of it if he did not defend against Lewis within 60 days, Bowe offered Lewis the same deal which Bowe himself had accepted from Holyfield which was a 72/25 deal which Lewis deliberately turned down knowing Bowe would be stripped of that belt, Bowe went on to defend his title in a return fight with Holyfield only this time it was Bowe who got the big end of a 75/25 deal.

Lewis could have fought Tyson in 1996 for a career highest purse of over $13 million but he turned it down, Tyson & King did not want the WBC to strip Tyson of their title so they paid Lewis step-a-side money of $4 million.. Lewis did not have to accept he could easily have went ahead and fought for the title and a career highest purse but Lewis never fancied his chances against that version of Mike Tyson so he stepped a side so Tyson could win a 2nd world title in his quest to be undisputed champion, Lewis then stepped a side a 2nd time for nothing so that Tyson could fight Evander Holyfield.. It stretches all the way back to September 1994 Wembley Arena the night i seen Oliver McCall completely annihilate Lennox Lewis, destroying him in less than 2rds, i seen Lewis barely make it through the opening round with him walking back to his corner grimacing in pain and badley winded by a terrific body-punch from McCall, then within seconds of the second round starting McCall Poleaxed Lewis with a right-hand bomb which left Lewis falling around the ring with glassy-eyes being counted out on his feet by the referee..... I knew from that night onwards that "LENNOX LEWIS WAS NOTHING SPECIAL".. i watched him from that night onwards avoid every top rated fighter in the world who was at the "Top of their Game"... never again did Lewis face a `Live`opponent, over the next 10yrs Lewis turned down fight after fight against all the top fighters regardless of how much money he was offered and instead Lewis chose to fight mediocre Class D journeymen fighters or old has-been fighters who was on the downside of their careers like Butler, Morrison, Fortune, Botha, Tua, Tyson & Holyfield... my opinion of Lewis was justified 6yrs later when again he was poleaxed by a very mediocre journeyman fighter called Hasim Rahman and with me at that time owning my first computer and access to the WWW i thought it only decent that i should share my theory & opinions with other boxing fans on Boxing Forums especially those fans who have a deluded theory that Lennox Lewis was some kind of mythical fighting machine when i knew first-hand that he was "Nothing Special"... those boxing fans like JoeyZagz, turdleburger and others make ****** comments like that Lewis could beat `Any Heavyweight in History`and that Lewis is `An ATG Top 3` which i find laughable.. i have seen Lewis fight on several occasions whereas JoeyZagz & turdleburger have never seen a Live`Boxing match in their lives... So JoeyZagz, turtleburger & Co need to `Get-Real` and curb their idolization because it makes them sound foolish, they need to understand that " I WAS THERE, They was not" ive seen Lewis fight live` on several occasions, they have never seen him fight..i followed Lewis career from start to finish and it did not surprise me when Lewis chose to accept step-a-side money rather than a guaranteed World Title fight against Mike Tyson in 1996.. it did not surprise me when Lewis turned down $10 million to fight Rid**** Bowe in 1995.. it did not surprise me that Lewis chose to fight Frans Botha instead of John Ruiz and get stripped of his World Title belt... it did not surprise me when Lewis chose to avoid Chris Byrd and again get stripped of his World Title belt.. it did not surprise me when Lewis promised the entire boxing world that he would face Vitali Klitschko in a rematch yet dragged out his title reign for another 9 months before "Baulking" on the deal... The reason i was never surprised was that i knew Lennox Lewis would never risk fighting a World Class Opponent who was "AT THE TOP OF HIS GAME" because he could not last 2rds the only time he ever did fight a fighter who was "At The Top of his Game".... Lewis was Nothing Special.
