    What's your take on him?
    http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Human:4986

Did Zarate ruin him or did he just get exploited?

Certainly a devastaing puncher. Could of he achieved more?

Thoughts on his career and legacy?

I lean more towards Zarate ruining him. He looked pretty good against Pedroza and Soo-Hwan Hong before he fought Zarate. He was a ****er but Zarate showed him another skill level.

I don't think that Zarate ruined him, it was his wars with Jorge Lujan and Alberto Sandoval which really did it, he looked great in both but both were very physically taxing fights (and exciting). Compared to those two fights the Zarate fight was very tame.

I really like Zamora, he was a tough guy with fast hands and feet and he could punch like a heavyweight, he was like a little Mexican Tyson stylistically and in the way he was blowing through guys. Damn good fighter and a somewhat forgotten part of Mexican boxing history.

An interesting note I would like to point out about his fight with Zarate is that it was one of those rare times in history that two undefeated, prime champions meet to decide supremacy in their weight class. Also Zamora was the only fighter to ever KO the great Eusebio Pedroza if I remember correctly, he overwhelmed the green Pedroza in the second round after hurting him multiple times.
