The point, though, is that you'll be hard pressed to find a harder punching Light-Heavy than Satterfield: He often turns up on lists of hardest punching full-blown Heavyweights.

Never quite got my head around Satterfield.. He could lose to a welterweight, then go out and KO a heavyweight.. As you rightly point out, he probably hit as hard as BF, but I think a prime Foster would still have a fair bit more than a rookie Satterfield..
What I mean is; unlike the brittle chinned BS, Foster would still be very much there in the later rounds which would increase his chances of scoring a stoppage or KO..
I've often said that Fosters chin was never tested by a decent puncher at 175.. In fact, I seriously doubt any of his opponents at 175 hit him as hard as LaMotta would, so who knows, there could have even been an upset, with Foster being broken down and KO'd.. But in summing up; if he hit Jake with the same punch he hit Tiger with, it's gonna be 'lights out,' whoever you are..

Satterfield suffered from big punch/glass jaw syndrome. For a long time he held the record for most 1st round KOs by a Heavyweight but suffered a few of his own. He was a popular fighter on TV in the 1950s because his finds normally ended in a spectacular KO either way.

But La Motta did not hit *very* hard, especially by LHW standards.

Or by Middleweight standards for that matter.....the phrase "couldn't bust an egg with a hammer" was invented for Lamotta

No he does seem to have got a reputation as a puncher since Raging Bull.
I remember a fighter (it will come to me) said that La Motta's only KO's were the other guy falling over with exhaustion after hitting him

The thread says....Could Fostor KO(not stop) Lamotta.

I responded no way in hades.

I would bet the house that Fostor could not KO Lamotta.

Lol, just highlighting the lack of punchers on Foster's LHWT resume..

I think he could. Foster had no joke in that left hook, and he could possibly hit LaMotta with the perfect punch. Like if Hagler moved up, and had to face Foster, I could see the ambulance pulling up minutes after Bob cold****ed him.
