Oh he was great alright. Fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. You don't get many guys like that nowadays.
Unfortunately, his best years were spent being unable to get a title shot.
Nice list, LaMotta was great but generally gets under rated because he was over shadowed for being in Sugar Ray's Era. Much better thenhe is given credit for imo and would give wars to any middleweight in history.
lamotta, near great, which is actually pretty good. in the top ten middles. lets see, ketchel, greb, walker, robinson, cerdan maybe, maybe zale and tiger were above lamotta. he was fierce, hard to hit clean, great bodypuncher. and tough and smart. but he never had say a walker punch.
Mickey you have walker ahead of lamotta at middleweight? walker was a good middleweight but he could not beat a past prime blind in one eye greb, and got a win over flowers which is one of the worst descions in middleweight histrory they robbed tiger! walker is more of a pound for pound great! not the best in any of the weights he boxed at but he was a former welterweight who become a top 5 heavyweight that takes some doing
