P4P: Calzaghe vs Mayweather

Im asking, who would win if they were the same size with their original skills?

Calzaghes workrate or Mayweathers masterfull defence?

You have to say Floyd.

Calzaghe was an excellent super middleweight, but all the pound for pound listings over the last ten years had Floyd adhead of Joe for a reason. Joe will go down as one of the best supermiddleweights in the divisions history, but I think Floyd will go down as one of the legends of the sport.

In a fantasy matchup sense......Floyd doesn't look his best against southpaws and he does hate incessant pressure, its why I think another southpaw 'Pacquiou' will pose problems, but Pacquiou does hit much harder pound for pound than Joe, and at just as fast a pace.

A similarly sized Calzaghe would surely be a tough fight for Mayweather but I could see floyd pot shoting the straight right hand and making Joe miss enough times to earn a decision.

when i thought about it , i was surprised by the short time it took me to think calzaghe would win by outworking floyd , and what does floyd have to keep calzaghe off him ? but i may be wrong here

calzaghe used to have enough power to get his opponent's attention. so p4p i don't think mayweather will be grinning at his punches. calzaghe has the style to make alot of trouble or mayweather. calzaghe also had uncanny timing when he was forced to chase an opponent around so i think that'd keep him from getting solidly countered everytime he got mayweather on the ropes like dlh or hatton were. the same way calzaghe hit bhop more than anyone else ever has, i think he'd be able to land surprisingly frequently on mayweather. i'm never one to underestimate mayweather's adaptibility though. i think the fight would be near even going into the championship rounds and mayweather would know it. he'd let his hands go a little more and punch with enough authority to upset calzaghe's rhythm.
