Even if Michael Moorer was killing himself to make weight as a light heavyweight, that's still alot of weight. It's not like Moorer was fat and out of shape either as a heavyweight either.

Was anything every made of this?

Consider that most guys who fight at 175 come in at fight night around 185 - 190lbs.They weigh 175 at the weigh in because they dehydrate their body severely to drop water weight. So the amount he had to gain wasn't quite 175 - 213, Still even 190 to 213 in four months is a lot of weight to gain in a short period of time.

Yeah it depends what he was coming into the ring at. Paul Williams weighed 165 in the ring in the first Quintana fight at 147. That's 18 pounds. So it's possible that Moorer was weighing close to 195 at the end of his LHW run. Plus he could've been walking around at 210 pre fight camp. If you notice, he was never as ripped at HW as he was at LHW as well.

A lot of people don't know that Marciano used to train down from over 200 lb walk around weight so that he'd have more stamina.

wouldn't be surprised if he came into the ring at 190. that along with not having to cut weight in training probably allowed him to easily gain some muscle. as far as i'm concerned there's no reason to question his reputation. none of us really have a reason to.

Moorer probably walked around at 210 even during his light heavyweight career. He was drained at 175.

It amazes me how little some boxing fans know about boxers.

Most boxers still look fit 30 pounds above fighting weight, semi-defined abs and all. I'll go out on a limb and say most boxers walk around at 25-40 pounds above fighting weight.

****, they weighed Glen Johnson and Dawson 30 days before their rematch and they both weighed in somewhere around 190. The first month is the month where you shed the weight the easiest, so you mean to tell me Glen and Chad don't walk around at 205-215? And they're not even struggling to make weight.

I don't have an online source to backup my claim, except my own observation of a few pro boxers.
