For Tyson to implement his style successfully against a taller fighter like Vitali he needs that prime lateral and head movement he had pre 90's.

In 1995, Tyson's movement was really minimal and he basically looked for the knockout, often walking straight in towards you... I think Tyson could possibly end up getting beat up in this fight.

1988 Tyson on the other hand, would be a completely different fight..

I tend to think even the 1995 headcase Tyson would be too much for Wlad: Too much power against too little chin. Now Vitali is a different story: He has the chin to take Tyson's power and keep going. That's a much tougher fight for Tyson than Wlad and I can see Vitali out-working Mike to a decision or getting a TKO late. I can also see Tyson piling up enough points early to get a decision himself. Wlad? No way in hell he beats Tyson.

Yup. I on the other hand think he still beats Vitali.

Holyfield is a tougher fight IMO and in their rematch Tyson was winning before he got DQ'd.

Tyson was slow and powerful even in 1995. I can see him piling up early points but still losing a close decision to Vitali. I doubt Tyson would get knocked out over the 12 rounds at this point.

Take the 1988 Tyson, of course, and there's no point in the match-up at all.

Hi Gamegod, Tyson wasn't slow in 1995, I think that maybe a typo. His hands at least still looked damn quick, very quick against Bruno in 96.

But I totally agree with your assessment of the fight and think Vitali would probably do well enough in the later rounds to get a points verdict.

I agree with your comments regarding the 1988 Tyson too. No way Vitali beats this version of Tyson.

95 mike just didn't have the heart to deal with a rock like vitali. i wouldn't be surprised if this was stopped. as others have said, 80s tyson is a whole different story.
