One gets his career ruined by Frank Warren and the other by Don King.

          Made me laugh.

Probably also to do with that Boxing isn't that big of a sport in England anymore, most of the athletic people tend to go and search for a career in football instead of boxing or any other sport for that matter.

Also America obviously outnumbers Britain by plenty, chances are that America is going to have more boxers.

Boxing isn't bigger than Darts or Snooker over here. In America it's huge.

Britain has a few special fighters coming through though.

Along with the good points above I would like to add that since they have less great amateur fighters than in the USA many of them don't get to practice against other elite talent when they are learning. It is a huge benefit being able to practice against a large variety of elite amateurs.

Also I think Soccer(Football) in Europe steals some of the great athletes from Boxing. The big American sports require you to have a pretty big frame (Normally at least 6' and at minimum 180lbs) for any of the major sports (NHL,NBA,NFL.MLB) so the great athletes who are not that big are left to populate Boxing's lower weight divisions. Now Soccer teams have players of all sizes and most of the elite British athletes end up playing soccer since it doesn't require you to have such a big frame.
