You wanna quote the rest there, champ? Or do you just pick apart a sentence to support your opinion?

Boxing is about way more than that. A lot of it is about machismo, it's about what it means to be fighting your heart out. Nobody wants to see two poseurs feinting and counter-feinting. get real you ****

Maybe you should run along to the MMA section.
Mayweather is the best pure RUNNER in the sport today. He USED to box but that was a long time ago: Now he just gets tips from Hector "Track Shoes" Camacho and runs like a b1tch.

Something Mayweather doesn't do much of with his 20 pot-shots a round.

Well he does do THAT in great fashion especially considering he gave up generating any offense a long time ago.

I appreciate the COMPLETE art of boxing quite well thank you! That means more than just NOT getting hit: It means not getting hit while generating offense of your own.

Are you trying to say that there's a certain amount of punches that a fighter MUST throw?

Well he does do THAT in great fashion especially considering he gave up generating any offense a long time ago.
By " giving up any offense", do you mean he has no offense? Funny.. but I thought you just said he threw 20 punches a round.

You said he generated 20 punches a round. Unless you don't count punches as offense?

There should be if you want to win a round. As recently as the early 1980s it was very unlikely that a fighter would win a fight throwing 20 pot-shots a round: The judges took a VERY dim view of such tactics. See Leonard - Duran II as an illustration: At the time of "No Mas" the fight was just about even on the scorecards.....courtesy of the pot-shot tactics Leonard was using.

20 pot-shots a round is NOT generating offense. Considering the typical Welterweight throws between 50 and 60 punches a round, 20 pot-shots a round is nothing less than something less than nothing at all. Cripes, Pretty Gay Floyd acts as if Ellerbe won't give no nookie if he threw a combination now and then.
