Charles won all their three fights but he didn't have it easy. One of the fights ended in a close decision while in the third fight Charles looked to be on his way out when he caught Moore on the chin and knocked him out. But Charles deserves all the credit in the world for beating Moore three times. He was the only man to do so.

However it was his showings against Charles that opened a lot of people's eyes on Moore's abilities, surpisingly, even though Moore lost the fights.

BoxRec talk? Those are facts that I've read from newspaper articles. Also nowhere does BoxRec state that Archie Moore actually gained respect after those losses. It's just a fact that can be observed by reading the writings and the boxing commentator's comments at the time. However Moore was actually the slight betting favorite in their first fight but this was during the time that Charles first got back from the army. Ezzard went onto dominate the division afterwards and by the time of their third fight Charles had all but cleaned out the division.

And I've seen plenty of fights of both Charles and Moore.
