What are your thoughts on this warrior.

Thought of as a club fighter until KO'ing Boza Edwards for the WBC super featherweight title, had a great war with Chung II Choi and then lost the title to Bazooka Limon in another excellent fight.

How do you think he would do in today's division and where do you rate him among the best 130 pounders in history.

I don't know for sure how he'd do with todays lot, but if I may I'd like to reflect on those fights. I thought after Edwards won the title that he'd hold on to it for awhile. The Navarette fight was televised as so many were back then. I was was very suprised when Edwards got caught and stopped. To me it was a big upset. So when Navarette defended against Limon, I figured he might be victorious too. But again the WBC belt changed hands.
On a side note the WBC super featherweight title was won by Chacon, Edwards, Navarette and Limon. Each of them might have lost(and did) to any of the rest. And all of them were Arguello victims. You might hear me say it alot but I rank past fighters not by who they beat but what the fighters they beat did after they were beaten. All four former Arguello victims Navarette, Limon, Chacon and Edwards went on to become world champions(titlists actually). Any of them very well might have won a title in any other era.
But that era was very exciting and produced some great fights!

his career at the top was short lived because of extra curricular activities that would compromise his training and conditioning. Thats why he got the monicker bad boy of dadiangas.
