I liked Kid Gallahad, not the Elvis One, which was ok but the old movie with Bogart and E.G Robinson. Just seen it the other day.

Suprised to see Cinderella Man as top so far. Good film but Raging Bull had it all to me.
Have thought of another film but struggeling with the title Louis Gossett Jnr fighting ten guys in a day? James Woods, Bruce Dern too I think? Quite a fun film that.

All great movies mentioned thus far, but i'm of the opinion that the more factual, the better the movie.. Although Gladiator & Rocky IV were entertaining to watch, I can't take actors (Denahay & Stalone) who are pushing 60, seriously as world class boxers.. It kind of spoils it for me..
Of the fictional movies that have'nt been mentioned, I think 'The Boxer' staring Daniel Day Lewis was a very good watch.. He's is terrifically talented and Barry McGuigan who trained him for the role, is on record as saying that he'd be 100% sure that Day Lewis would have been a champion had he chosen boxing as a career..
My fav has to be 'Raging Bull'.. The performance and attention to detail, from DeNiro was exceptional.. He even put the film on hold for a couple of months while he went on an ice cream diet in order to gain 4 stone to potray the older LaMotta in about the final 10 minutes of the film.. He even paid the producers expenses from his own pocket while he did this.. Talk about keep it real, that was one great black and white movie..
