there is no fight films of greb, only some film of him shadowboxing, which i've seen. it looks like he's fooling around for the camera but damn, greb was fast. like the other guys said, greb is the only man to beat ATG gene tunney. i have an old boxing book which has a chapter on greb, he was a truly great fighter

i rank them all highly. a boxer can't account for developments past his own era, he can only fight the best of his time. jack johnson for instance, he stalled a lot but he was fighting 20, 25, 50 round sched fights so he could. no comparison. greb we'll never know but we are sure he was great based on his record

there is no official film footage of Harry Grebb actually fighting, the only footage is of him signing to fight Mickey Walker .

i think in boxing, moreso than other sports, seeing is believing.for instance, pep fought 229 fights.you cannot convince me that even 215 of these guys were credible opponent who had a chance at winning.so if you look at peps record an say he must have been superman, but the fights of his ive seen against sandler,i thought this was a joke.i was totally unimpressed.i think after hearing so much, then finally seein him,it was a huge letdown.i could not imagine him beating guys like naz, barrera, morrales, pacman by any strecth.but on the flipside i say, maybe i havent seen enough.

same thing with jack johnson.his fights look hillarious.almost like a circus act.

i think these past 20 years who have produced the best boxers ever.hopkins, duran, tyson, toney, jones, mayweather,le wis, bowe, holyfeild, hearns, sugar ray,de la hoya, whitaker, pacman etc.any of these fighters i can see dominating their best division at any time frame.even though some of those divisions havent always been around.it seems that boxing fans have the hardest time excepting that the sport evolves, and fighters get bigger an better over the years
There is a lot of filmed fights out there of **** Tiger, probably around 30 or more. Not having seen them has more to do with you not putting up the effort to go out and watch his fights. As for Jack Johnson and Willie Pep, there should be enough footage to judge them by.

Thinking that Jack Johnson couldn't hang with today's fighters is hardly outrageous because Johnson fought under completely different rules. Small gloves, no penalty for holding, 45 round fights, all these things make a difference. I still think he would be successful today if he were allowed to adapt to today's rules much like he adapted to the rules of his day.
