Very ugly fight, lots of mauling and clinching tactics from Duran, described as great infighting by some, but to me Leonard was the only one really throwing punches in these exchanges, flashy or not.Duran's effort in the 15th round pretty much summed up the entire fight.I thought Duran won and don't argue the decision but in time it's become an overrated performance by Duran and a somewhat underrated perormance by Leonard. The only period where Duran really dominated was early on,I think I gave him the first four rounds.

    Ali-Frazier 3 -

The thriller in manila and supposedly the greatest heavyweight fight of all time and it wasn't even the best fight of their quite overrated trilogy.both men looked out of shape to me,Ali especially and the pace was fairly slow.the first five rounds where somewhat interesting,Ali looked sharp and accurate with the combinations that he threw but down the stretch the pace really slowed, watching Ali simply lie on the ropes and take arm punches isn't very interesting or exciting to watch.Frazier wasn't particularly impressive just as Ali was terrible. The greatest portion of the fight was the last three rounds where Ali used Frazier face as target practice and just bludgeoned him, although again,it wasn't so much that Ali was impressive as Frazier was just a walking zombie at that point and Ali should have knocked him out as he was there to be finished.Ali had failed to knock out an opponent who had a suspect chin and was at the worst point in his career.

    barrera-Morales -

The whole trilogy really, the first fight was great but the second fight was an absolute stinker where barrera reused to fight for the first six rounds and strill somehow walked away with the decision and the third fight was ok but it was sloppy as hell with alot of air punching and silly swinging involved. They call this one of the greatest trilogies of all time, when in truth it wasn't even better than Harding-Andries.

    Gatti-Ward -

I don't see how anyone can claim these were some of the greatest fights of all time,Gatti has had far more exciting fights than the series he had with Ward, sure the 9th round was exciting but the rest of the fight was very good fight at best.I also wonder how many have actually watched fights one and two because both fights were fairly one sided(the second fight in particular)where Gatti simply boxed and moved and won two clear decisons. It doesn't rank up there with Gatti's fights with Ivan Robinson or his fight with Rodriguez, fights two and there were as average as a fight can be

I don't see how anyone can call Leonard-Hearns overrated, what more out of a fight do you want? It had everything you can ever want out of a great fight.
For once i agree with you, i could not get excited watching Morales v Barrera or Gatti v Ward... The Ali v Frazier fight was good yet nowhere near as good as their first encounter, yet i enjoy Leonard v Duran (1) but only because i have the closed-circuit verson which is far superior coverage than the other versions...
Leonard v Hearns (1) is fantastic viewing.

Corrales-Castillo 1- I ended up watching this fight a few months after it happened and in that time I was told that it was one of the greatest fights of the last ten years or of all time from some people. I thought it was a very good fight, very brutal and it was a great show of heart from both men but in the end I had seen a lot of fights that I liked much more.

"The War" Hagler vs Hearns- Again I was told that this was one of the greatest fights of all time and the first round got me going but after that the fight seemed to fizzle out, great first round though, it is one of my favorite rounds in history but the fight as a whole seemed dissapointing to me.

What are the fights that dissapointed you when you finally watched them?
Monzon-Bonavena I and Torres-Cotton. Both fights of the year but they didn't seem as exciting as a FOTY should be.
