Early in the fight, Hearns is clowning around and pacheco says that doing so won't make the Hitman a superstar. WTF? Hearns was already a superstar, you idiot!!!!!! Hearns drops Olajide in the 9th with his signature right cross, but punches himself out and has to settle for an easy decision. I had hearns winning 118-108. Olajide was trained by Dundee, and another funny line was Pacheco telling Olajide after the first round that Hearns was tailor made for him.
Agree, so silly the things he comes out with, infact early in the fight Hearns, whilst not throwing many punches, was cutting the ring off but not letting his hands go, but it seemed to be a conscious strategy he had devised to make Olajide expend more energy, of coarse Pacheco criticized him for it, cause in his eyes, if you aint getting off, by default you must not be cutting the ring down , what he failed to realize, is that Hearns was! cutting the ring off, he just wanted to fight patiently, make Olajide have to move even more because! he was cutting the ring off, so he could capitalize on it later.

Turned into an interesting fight in the last few rounds after a quiet start.

Just watched Mayweather - Rios, also watched Duran - Castro earlier. At times Castro seemed to get the best of Duran on the inside, he kept landing his short inside uppercut and was able to bang Duran to the body, Duran seemed to do better when he got on the stick and generated some space where he could work from, although for most the fight he was content to lay inside with Castro. Good fight.

Mayweather vs Rios, started out with Mayweather fighting too tentatively, albeit he was more aggressive that the Mayweather we see today, then again, he always was at 130 wasn't he? that said, Mayweather still would not sustain his attacks, he would purposefully back Rios up behind the the jab but when he got there, he would wait for the perfect opportunity to hit Rios, peck away at him with singles, however down the stretch he became more aggressive, even hurt the smaller Rios toward the end, but he could not get him out there. Mayweather showed a terrific array of punches though, terrific bodywork, counter uppercuts, you name it, all in all a good/decent performance.

      November 1982-Qawi-Eddie Davis

Eddie Davis showed tremendous heart in this fight. He was savagely dropped in the first round by a ferocious three punch combo. Davis was out on his feet when he got up and barely survived the fight. For the next 9 rounds, Davis went toe to toe with Qawi, even stunning the Buzzsaw a few times. In the 10th, Davis was buckled by a couple of ferocious Qawi uppercuts. In the 11th, Qawi jumped off his stool and dropped Davis again with another ferocious combo. Referee Tony Perez finally put a halt to what was a brutal war. Tremendous fight for Qawi's WBC 175 pound title.

July, 1982: Ray Mancini vs Ernesto Espana

Mancini's first title defense after winning the WBA 135 pound title from Art Frias. A total, one sided after with an atrocious ending caused by the incompetence of referee Stanley Christodulo, the same ref who allowed Pedroza to hit Lockridge with 100 low blows with impunity. In the 6th round, the bell sounded to end the round and for a good 5 seconds Mancini laid into Espana. Both corners were coming into the ring to break it up and what does the idiotic ref do but stop the fight and award Mancini the victory instead of penalizing him. Espana was outclassed and would have lost anyway, but you cannot allow another fighter to punch after the bell and then reward him with a victory.

                • Spinks vs Cooney.

Good fight which showcases Spinks' very good jab and then he moves in firing lots of haymaker hooks to knockdown Cooney a few times until the fight is stopped.

dwight qawi vs ossie ocasio from 1987

absolutely one of the worst decisions i've ever seen. Ocasio ran and held for 10 rounds, and was even penalized for holding. He flicked a pathetic jab and might have landed 20 punches in the entire fight. As soon as the decision was read, ocasio ran out of the ring as though he had robbed a bank. Horrendous fight and even more horrendous a decision!!!!!!
