How good was his chin? He's never been stopped in a fight and has only been down a couple times. Actually, I know of only one case of that happening, in the Tiozzo fight and he was, as we know, not the same by then.
McCallum's chin?

James Toney probably came the closest to stopping him or Julian Jackson, but he took how many consecutive shots on the chin from Toney and did not go down, Jackson caught him cold and shook him a bit but he recovered quickly and saw Jackson off.
I watched the Tiozza fight not that long ago and i cant remember the KD, so it cant have been significantly hurt or i would of remembered it.Comment

The only time I saw Mccallum in danger of being stopped was the first Toney fight towards the end of the 12th round. Curry was outboxing him for five rounds, but never hurt him. Jones and Toney hit him often in his last two fights, but he was never closed to being stopped.Comment

He had a great chin, no one really hurt him until the end of his career. Curry stunned him, almost had him on the floor from a beautiful right hand that might've knocked out quite a lot of 154 pounders. I have to rewatch the Toney fight but I remember him being pretty hurt by Tiozzo, right hand knocked him down I believe, got up quite wobbly and was in trouble for the rest of the round. Sad to see really, never would've gotten knocked down by Tiozzo a few years earlier.Comment

I never saw the fight myself but I read he got stopped once in the amateurs, but as a pro he had a cast-iron chinComment
