  • Ernie Terrell Cat Williams, etc

Terrell was at the time one of the tallest heavyweights. He was built solid and was an excellent fighter. Williams likewise, strong and perhaps undervalued from a historical perspective. These two, among others, were big, strong heavyweights who had skills. I will post a few fights... I think when we deal with the heavyweights, we often deal with a division that does not have the ATG names. This is because the scarcity of big men as compared to the lower weight classes where a large majority of the population have entree into. For every 20 potential fighters weighing from 140 to 180, there might be 5 potential fighters weighing 190 and above...

This means that we can have a solid division with no ATG names... Just well skilled fighters who competed with great skill against other such fighters. The 1970's heavyweight peak was an amazing historical occurance, we may never see something like it again.

Pay attention to Terrell's assortment of punches, his strength, etc. Williams was a murderous puncher. there are some great fights to post from him as well, but lets start with Ernie shall we?
