They didnt wear gloves in Pancrase because closed fist strikes were illegal. Basically open palm strikes and slaps were legal.

It was a "worked" match. Masakatsu Funaki was a legit fighter though, tough as nails.

This was a rehearsed fight, much like the Ali one. The Jap guy had to win but with some controversy looking as though Duran had taken it nearly. Completely rehearsed though.

Depends on how legitimate you think Pancrase of the 1990's was.Japanese mmGAY has proven to be as corrupt as Japanese pro wrestling,the difference being of course is that in a pro wrestling match,the fights are supposed to be worked.
