    To me it's understandable why JJ walked away from that fight for that money (after winning the title.)
    I've read it described as "a paltry purse of $6000, with the winner to get $4000."


    I've also seen Johnson saying it was $5000.

              You certainly know your history pal. Does your knowledge mostly come from being extremely well read? I am guessing yes. I see you said you've read a truckload of books and multiple on certain fighters. There's sure no substitute for that because you get all the research and can see what overlaps and agree's and what doesn't.

              Makes for a real fountain of knowledge.

                I went to the fights every month in my younger days ,still go to competitive fights.Boxed to a poor standard myself, and began collecting fight films in the 60's.I'd say I'm an average poster ,no expert, just a big fan of the sport.
