why does rock marciano get hated for fighting old men walcott and moore?

This is where the Rock's emergence echoes that of Mike Tyson.. Both appeared on the scene when all the good guys were past it, & the others simply weren't good enough.. I wouldn't criticise either fighter for knocking out everyone put in front of them.. It's just the way father time dealt the pack.. But I would suggest that it effects where they stand in an ATG list..
For example, if Marciano & Tyson had KO'd Louis & Holmes in their primes, then they'd both be in the top 3 on most lists..
