I'm not sure the fight would ever come off.Ali would really get under Tyson's skin after months of taunting and public humilation.Tyson may have gone spastic and even attacked Ali on several occasions.

i don't think so, he was really easy to provoke i think, he would came out of his rhythm and lose

ok, give me an example of a prime tyson being provoked before a fight and hence lost his game plan and rhythm.

I know I've analyzed this fantasy fight before on here, but God help me I love this one! Tyson comes on too strong and too fast for Ali to fight from the outside. Tyson scores a couple of knockdowns in the first 5 rounds but Ali doesn't stay down. After the fifth round Tyson begins to get sloppy and Ali gets into his rhythm and takes the fight to him, making him miss and landing solid shots. Ali finally knocks down Tyson for good around 11 or 12.

Don't ever really remember anyone trying to be honest, pretty sure Ali would though. I wouldn't count against Ali getting under his skin I don't think Tyson would take to people laughing at him to well.
So if he then got all fired up and came out firing bombs and didn't get any early success? Be interesting.
Personally I think this is a bad match up for Tyson and don't feel that Ali needs to mind **** Tyson to take this.

A couple of knockdowns? With a prime Ali?

I don't know. Only two people knocked down a young, undeveloped Ali (Banks and Cooper). Only one man knocked down a post-prime Ali, and had to do so with one of the most viscious left hooks in history (Frazier). So, I have a very hard time believing a prime '66-67 would get knocked down more than once by Tyson.

Am I off here or does that sound reasonable?

                I think Ali would win.

I remember my grandfather told me how everyone told Ali he would be crushed by Foreman because of his power; oh how wrong they were.

Has nobody ever heard of a search function? This is without question the most played out so called "dream match" in history. It's the same robotic predictions every time,"Ali gets under his skin and stops him late","No one beats a prime tyson,Tyson early ko".Go to google search and type mike tyson muhammad ali. There are threads out there far more detailed in depth than this one will ever produce

Who wins between the two? I'd say Ali in his prime beats Tyson today and Tyson in his prime beats Ali of today.Happy?

Ok so there is nothing in that case to suggest Tyson would be beaten during the fight. The holyfield situation is extremley different, it was a re-match and it was frustration due to the constant headbutts (according to Tyson) it was also during the fight not before.
