When was Ali hurt the worst in his career?

1-The 11th round of the 1st Frazier fight.

2-The 15th round of the 1st Frazier fight

3-The 4th round of the 1st Cooper fight. He might have been in more trouble here than anytime in his career. If Cooper had landed that punch a minute earlier,I believe he would have stopped Clay.

4-The 13th and 14th rounds of the Shavers fight. And other times during the Shavers fight.

    Any thoughts or comments?

shavers had him the most buzzed, frazier beat him up the worst, and cooper had him in the most trouble (cuz he was inexperienced).

Ali said in 1980 the worst hurt he was, was in the 3rd Norton fight when Kenny doubled him up with a left hook to the body. Said it touch and go whether he was going to go down.

That was most likely the worst he was ever hurt in the ring. Terrific body shot to a completely defenseless Ali, yet Ali took it.

The worst trouble he was in was probably against Henry Cooper.

The 11th round against Frazier. He had sense enough to clown around and make Frazier think he was not that seriously hurt, or else Frazier would have finished him off.

Shavers, round two is the hardest Ali said he was ever hit. But closest to stoppage was clearly round 11 Frazier 1.............some refs would have stopped that when Ali was jelly legged, staggering round the ring.

I never felt that he was in that much trouble against Cooper though, he got up fast enough and seemed to walk ok to the corner. Granted Dundee pulled a trick with the torn glove to buy some time but I dont think he was in that much trouble.

Round 15 Spinks 1 was a tough round for Ali too, he clearly staggered back to his corner when that one finished.

I could be wrong but that hook to the body was the only time I ever saw ali/clay ever visibly hurt by a body shot.Norton's sustained body attack during that fight was a master piece

The whole story with the glove is an overblown myth that is now placed in boxing folklore history never to be removed

What about the first fight with Norton? He got his jaw broken. Ouch...

You know people say that Larry Holmes held back when he fought Ali, he did not look like he was holding back to me

He looked more like he was trying to make a statement and his shots looked full blooded to me. I cant believe Dundee let that fight go on as long as it did.

I must say I don't like Dundee. He seems to me like an arrogant old man with bad temper.
