I don't think Graham was really washed up when he fought Brewer, definitely past his best but he was winning the fight in my eyes and knocked Brewer down twice I believe before getting caught himself. Shame that was, always wanted him to win that title.

Bob Foster's chin at heavyweight was really not good, it was OK at 175 though.

I'd say he was washed up. He was nearly 40 years old with the style of a 20 year olds. The fact that he could make it as competitive as he did shows how good he was at his peak, atleast compared to Charles Brewer.

He had been retired from 1992 to 1996 until making his last comeback.

Hmmm couple of names on there I'm not too sure about:
Herol Graham, that Jackson punch would have taken out a few Heavys IMO. He stood up to McCallum who could hit in a pretty gruelling fight.
Lewis, nor too sure about him either the Rahman and McCall KO's would have put out most fighters IMO. Wobbled in another couple of fights but these are HW's if they hit you clean you should wobble really.
If you want a Brit really packing china Errol Christie is your man, fantastic talent but punch resistance of a jacobs cracker.
Trinidad I don't have down as overly chinny, well once he gets past the 2nd round at least!

Hi GJC, I did think a few names on my list would receive retaliation. But with the exception of Graham, who was world class the others are elite or pound for pound fighters.

I could think of hundreds of chinny guys well outside the elite, but that list would be purposeless.

I know but he wasn't fighting like a washed up fighter is all I'm saying, his legs weren't as fresh obviously, his hands were a bit slower, his reflexes had dulled down but he could still pull the trigger and was still able to use his legs to move out of the way for the most part, washed up fighters can't really do that.

No fair point Christie doesn't live in that company but if he didn't have a glass jaw I reckon he might have.
When I first saw the guy I thought he was the full package and then someone hit him.......

what evidence do you have of this `common knowledge` i have spoken to Johnny Nelson on a few occasions and he rated Herol Graham as one of the greatest fighters britain ever had, saying Benn, Eubank & Collins would all be badly beaten by " Bomber"

Eubank said it himself, that he put Herol on his back.

I heard about the Eastman KO (sparring) whilst watching his fight with Brewer, Darky brought it up because they were on about pulling him out of the fight, or not letting the fight go ahead, something like that.

Herol Graham said Eubank knocked him down to i think.
