Is Vernon Forrest a HOF'er

I will say this though ;

1.) Vernon is already a "Hall of Famer" in my eyes.

and

2.) There are some guys in the Hall of Fame right now whom I believe Forrest to be more worthy than.

I would'nt be in a rush to have a beer with 50% of you, if your all that mean..
Of course He's a HOFFA.. Terrific amateur, double world champ, dominated Mosley, had the best jab throughout his weight class for the last 10 years, & he won the 2nd Mayorga fight in my opinion.. Victories over Boldomir & Quartey to.. He belongs on the qaulity of his jab alone.. Forrest new exactly how to perform & look good doing it.. He's being sourly underrated here..

No. He got 2 big wins on SSM plus anotha belt from 147. He got 2 belts at 154 also. Good career, but not HOF worthy imo. I thought Ike clearly beat him.

I don't think so, his career reminds me a little of Donald Curry, really well skilled fighter was supposed to be the next big thing (although Curry was farther along than Forrest was in the hype department), loses in an upset, Curry to Honeyghan, Forrest to Mayorga. Moves up in weight and has moderate success at the higher weight class. So no, I don't think Forrest is a HOFer but a really good fighter at his peak, which was in the first Mosley fight IMO.

Excellent point. Forrest and Curry's career almost mirror each other. Both were linear Welter Champs, both were Ring Fighters of the Year, and both were mediocre as 154 champions. Both were excellent fighters and both did not dominate for a long time as expected. Excellent comparison, as Curry is one of three Ring Fighters of the Year that is eligible and not inducted yet

i dont think so, he had the potential but i dont feel he did enough. those wins over mosley were really good but he needed to do more.

Good post, I agree Curry is a very good comparison to Forrest in that they were both among the tip top best in the game at times during their careers but didn't get the wins that they needed to make the HOF.

If they do put Forrest in i'd be very very happy but being ko'd by Mayorga doesn't help him.
