Personally, I think "Heart" can be built since it is really "confidence" as well.

So....have a great chin and your confidence will boost which boosts your heart. Fear is the worst thing for "heart" and if you don't have a strong chin you may fear being hurt/ko'd.

Power: again, helps boost the "heart" because it is a confidence booster to know you have this great weapon. It can also keep you in a fight throughout even when losing because you have this feeling you can change the course of the fight with one big punch. Again, confidence booster = increased heart.

Condition: again, increases heart {symbolic} because your stamina is good to go the distance, can absorb punishment, etc. Fewer worries to deal with. Come in piss poor condition and your confidence which affects your "heart" goes down...which is the full meaning of "heart" since it is both symbolic and has to do with the actual health of the cardiovascular system.

And of course, follow the maturation process of growth both mentally and physically. Get experience. Experience is key to "heart"/Confidence. And it's better to start young so you can be broke down and rebuilt.

At least that is how I see it.

    All attributes boost "heart."

I don't care how big your heart is, if you are 110 pounds, have asthma, have no muscle tone and have more estrogen in your body than testosterone, well, then you are going to get killed.

HHC has always been my combo (heart, handspeed, chin) cos every thing else can be trained & developed... That's what makes this a toughie..
However.... Take a look at ASSASSINS 1st post.. I do think he puts it rather well... MM
He has a very valid point. Have seen so many fighters who seemed to have it all and then one tap on the chin and boom end of potential so do like to see a solid chin. Do think you can choose really you need both is the answer.

Small world, that was the fighter that was in my mind when I wrote that comment. When I first saw Christie I thought wow this kid has the most talent I've seen in a British fighter since Conteh. Such a disappointment, well guess you remember lol

The family were from Coventry.. His brother Lloyd was the only blemish on Terry Marsh's record.. A 10 rnd draw that occurred during the early part of his career..
Errol peaked when he went over to America, & put on a master class in outpointing Sean Mannion, who was regrded as a contender at the time.. Christie was only about 22 then, & was all washed up about 2 years later.. He had everything bar the chin.. Was badly polaxed by Jose Seyes & Mark Kaylor & then went on to lose to a mate of mine, Ian Strudwick, who also fought Steve Collins & Chris Pyatt (both TKO loses)
Last time I heard, he was earning a small crust as a stand up comedian (no joke) as opposed to a horizontal one (joke) lol

Obviously we can all agree that having both is essential but most likely WITHOUT heart, the "fighter" wouldn't even make it through training and onto the fight stage.

Heart, no doubt. Because according to Captain Planet it's comparable to Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth. [/thread]

                    heart,
if you have heart, then you can get back up if knocked down

I agree with your sentiment, but only if conscious surely?
