Good stuff. Ken was the original road warrior, fighting all over the world and never once in his home town of Edinburgh. He had some stellar wins in his career and was a tough nut to boot. How many other Western-based fighters won a world title by beating a Latin American Hall of Famer in Latin America?

His career was hampered by the politics of boxing, though, and he was variously in dispute with the BBBC and the WBC, which is why he never made a title defence in Britain and probably why he had to wait three years to get another title shot after Duran. He never did get his rematch with Duran. I think Duran would have beaten him again, but he still deserved a second shot.

Greatest British fighter since the war, imo.

Wouldn't argue with that, Conteh was such a waste of talent.
