Spinks, I thought did not have what it takes that time when he fought tyson. Though smaller, tyson made up for his handicap by going up on spinks the moment the bell ring. It was not a good fight because spinks did not even throw a convincing punch. Looking back, I thought the fight was a mismatch in terms of ability, power and speed. and it all favors tyson.

Holmes was already late in his prime and could not match up against the much younger and much stronger tyson, also a mismatch.

On the other hand, the berbick fight was probably the more convincing one because berbick was the champion, somehow bigger than tyson, and yet tyson knocked him out.

Definitely his win over berbick was the most impressive

        Its tyson-Biggs for me.

I think that just showed what people hadnt seen before, that tysons actually a smart fighter, not just a wild swinger as some ofhis earlier fights suggested.

Spinks, Berbick, Frazier and another guy maybe Donnie Long? He kocked him down with a nice body shot then the fighter gets up and Tyson immediatley runs over and smashes him and k.o.s him.

You are right, the win over Long should not be forgotten. It was the first remarkable opponent young Tyson had beaten.

Either Holmes, Berbick or Spinks. Ummm.. I'm going to say Berbick. Tyson was just a kid when he won the belt.

Spinks was a good fighter but only a half decent heavyweight. Can anyone name a Tyson opponent, that he defeated apart from Spinks, that was like.....top twenety of all time??? top 25??? Because you have to weigh it up to quality of opponent don`t you, thats what make the fighter. Spinks, excellent win yes, but the fights against old Larry Holmes, Tyrell `no chin` Biggs and Tony `pass the coke` Tucker don`t do it i`m afraid. Tyso, very exciting but didn`t beat anyone that good and was beaten up by every world class figher ( apart from spinks ) he faced!
