Any idea's who Langford was fighting in this picture?

Looks to me like it could be Sam Mcvea, although Mcvea himself was not a tall Heavyweight.

      Thanks for the pics Manchine.

It's good to finally put a face to the likes of Kid Norfolk (looks like Mike Tyson in the pic) and Dixie Kid. I've read much about these fighters, but it's hard to get to see images of them.

That is indeed Sam Mcvea. In one of their 15 meetings. Langford won the series 6-2-5 (with two no contests).

I just started looking for pictures of these fighters myself. I wasn't aware that there were as many pictures from around that era as there are.

            Another picture of Dixie Kid:

** Looks su****iously like Joe Jeannette or his twin.

Too intimidating and experienced fighter for Johnson to ever think about beating.

Your Jimmy Barry pic is of Billy Miske. Here's Little Tiger, 5-2 and 98-112 recorded weight range:

Indeed, I was researching Jim Barry, and muddled his name up with one of the pictures (Billy Miske).

Indeed Griffin does have a look of Jeannette, but thats him. I feel Griffin is a rather underrated fighter. Here's a little bio on him
