Yeah i have the full fight in my libary. Roger puts up a decent effort. This fight was for the NABF Title. Going into the fight Mayweather had already been WBA Super Featherweight champion, defeating Samuel Serrano and did make 2 defences of it. He had also fought Julio Cesar Chavez, for the WBC Super Featherweight Title going into the Whitaker fight.

I always fought Whitaker never really had easy fights early on in his career and was never wrapped in cotton woll, the way some world amature's are today.

On his first fight he fought Farrain Comeaux who was 9-0.On his 4th fight he fought Nick Parker who was 13-4-1. On his 5th fight he fought John Senegal who was 20-1-1. On his 8th fight he fought John Montes who was 29-3-0. On his 9th fight he fought Rafael Williams who was 24-2. On his 11th fight he fought former World Champion Roger Mayweather who was 26-4. And on only his 15th fight he fought for a world title against Mexican Legend Jose Luis Ramirez who was 100-6, Whitaker was robbed blind. And the fight after Ramirez give the unbeaten Julio Cesar Chavez all he could handle.

So i think Whitaker was matched rather tough, and wasn't fighting Journyman after Journyman as you can see.

Alfredo Escalera had a pretty good schtick with his boa constrictor and the outfits he wore.

          Hamed. Hands down.

Such a ****y, arrogant ****, and his fighting style was so abnormal that a purist like myself would literally scream at him on the TV.

I still love watching Barrera spank him.

Honorable mentions : Leonard, Jones, Whitaker, Augustus.

Nice picks. I'd like to add Hector Camacho to that list and Ali pre ban.
