  • Aaron Pryor vs. Ray Mancini

In '84 after Aaron Pryor returned from his 1st retirement there was a proposed fight with Ray Mancini. However before it could happen Mancini lost to Bramble and it never happened. My question is, how do you think it would have gone?

Personally, I think Pryor takes it in an absolute slugfest. I love Mancini, all the heart in the world and not a step backward but Pryor was bigger and stronger and would prevail by 7-8 rd TKO.

Pryor should've handled him. He was just a better fighter.

I feel very comfortable picking Pryor to beat Mancini. Anything Ray did, Pryor was able to do just a little better. I especially like how Aaron's punch output and endurance never waned.

I'am very confident in a Pryor TKO victory here, they were ment to meet until Alexis Arguello talked Mancini out of the fight, saying to Ray don't take it for your well being. And Ray must of took his advice.

I think it would have started at a frantic pace much like the Mancini vs Frias fight. I think Pryor would have stopped him by 4 rounds.

I'm not sure if people are reading the thread, he's speaking of the comeback Pryor who was struggling with drug addiction if I'm not incorrect. Still I would choose Pryor to take it. A prime Pryor would obviously demolish him.

Pryor would have massacred mancini. Boom Boom wasn't half the fighter "the Hawk" was.

Pryor KO. Slugfest, but Pryor gets to him inside 6 rds.
