why was joe frazier an uncle tom?

I could understand muhammad ali calling ernie terrell and floyd patterson, uncle toms and they deserved that beating they got.

But frazier seemed alright why did muhammad ali call him a gorilla and an uncle tom.

Because Frazier called him Cassius Clay and said he would go to the Vietnam war if asked unlike Cassius...

The real reason is because Ali wanted to anger him and sell tickets, as was the case in Ali-Patterson and Ali-Terrell. Ali was actually friends with Patterson.

Maybe I'm reading to much into it, but I think it is more complex than that.

What do you guys see in the pictures?:

When did Frazier call Ali Clay?

          I mean incessantly like Tyrell.

the angle is different and it looks like they were taken at different times, since there is a mirror like object on the bottom pic, and it is absent on the top pic. It may even look like two different settings on these pics since the ornamentation and columns look different in the precented pictures, but it may just be the angle and I am overlooking something.

well at the time Ali hadn't been out of exile very long and still held to the hardline NOI beliefs that Malcolm X had championed. He perceived Clay as his slave name and it really pissed him off when someone referred to him like that.

Ever see the beating he put on Ernie Terrell? "What's my name??"

He did several times leading up to the first fight, and several times thereafter..... if I'm not mistaken after the first round of the Thrilla when Ali had hurt Frazier Bundini even started yelling something like "he won't call you cassius clay no more.."
