    Why is Foreman so underrated?

When people speak of great heavyweights they often forget about George Foreman. They acknowledge his punching power but he seldom makes their top 10 or 20 list of ATG heavyweights. Is it because of his loss to Muhammad Ali?

What's your take on it? Is he a forgotten champion who is overrated/underrated and why is that so?

He's not underrated. Can you name a more famous advocate of healthy food grills?!

Haha, no.. Actually i can't. But that's the problem. People remember him for his grills and not the fact that he used to be most feared man in boxing.. Just wondering why..

I don't think he is underrated at all. He is almost always ranked somewhere in people's top 10 HW lists.

Between 5-10 seems like the right ranking for Big George.

        EDIT:

Meh, hate I guess, well hats the reason for me to be honest.
I've only seen 2 matches of his that was Ali and Frazier, he owned the **** out of my favourite fighter and got KO'D by the GOAT. Thats the reason for me atleast not to pick him.

You should take a look at his other fights, particularly Foreman vs Lyle.

He was one of the hardest punchers of all time and also one of the most exciting, always one punch away from winning the fight.

I don't think he's underrated in ability or popularity. Most guys who know boxing rank him high and he seems to be universally loved and respected by fans AND his former opponants.
I never heard Norton, Frazier or Ali ever say anything bad about Big George after they fought!

"Champions Forever" is MUST viewing for any true boxing fan. Great, great stuff there.

It's too bad we missed out on several Holmes/Foreman matchups during George's decade long absence, though judging by the Ali and Young fights, Larry probably would've gotten the better of him.

I would not consider George underrated. He gets his props.

Not here, as many guys are really knowledgable, but in the world at large Larry Holmes is the most underrated HW.

The George Foreman grill overshadowed his boxing career.
