My favorite Liston highlight was the KO of Westphal. He looked like he killed him.

My favorite Liston highlight was the KO of Westphal. He looked like he killed him.

Westphal crumbled to the canvas as if he had been shot. He was competitive in Germany but didn't have a chance against Liston. At 5'7 Westphal might have been one of the shortest heavyweights ever.

It was the fight before Liston challenged Patterson. Floyd must not have believed in his chances.

My favorite Liston KO is him chopping down Cleveland Williams in the corner. Whitehurst flying out of the ring is a good one too but it wasn't an official KO.

Liston was a beast, no doubt about it! He gets overlooked alot as "that dude Ali beat" but he was really one of the best. He just had the misfortune to be holding the belt when THE best came along.
